Mt Crawford Rosé
Vintage 2008
DRY, YET FIESTY & FRUIT DRIVEN
IN THE GLASS
Bright crimson in colour, the more full-bodied style clearly showing through.
ON THE NOSE
Fresh, juicy red berries, raspberries and strawberries, a hint of turkish delight and floral notes.
IN THE MOUTH
This is the ideal rosé for all that have traditionally failed to be seduced by the style.
The ripe red fruits explode on the palate - and lift and linger indefinitely.
It’s full-frontal fruitiness, it’s rich flavour, it’s dryness and it’s sweet fruit flavours on the palate make it all that a rosé should be - full of flavour and alluring.
IN THE VINEYARD
Out of our seven clones of Pinot Noir planted at Mt Crawford, we have selected one for use specifically in our rosé, having a much brighter fruit character and a little less savouriness and earthiness. A small parcel of Merlot from block 2 is chosen for the same reason - to keep the rosé full of luscious vibrant characters.
IN THE WINERY
A specially selected mix of four yeast strains was used to give the wine it’s complex fruit characters.
The individual varietal parcels were fermented for one and two days on skins to give the wine a vibrant colour and a hint of lingering dryness on the palate.
